Bumthang: Sethra

Along with mathra, Sethra is a very popular plaid associated with Central Bhutan. Sethra means “gold pattern” and refers to yellow, black and white plaid on an orange ground. Originally woven of wild silk in Eastern Bhutan, it is now often woven of wool. It is usually woven with a bird’s-eye twill.
