I have been learning to weave Kushutara in Bhutan, and I share what I have learned in the posts on the techniques of weaving kushutara, sapma & thrima, and on the Bhutanese backstrap loom and warp preparation.

Before I learned to weave aikapur, I shared my early observations (gleaned from hours sitting next to aikapur weavers) in these posts: supplementary warp and supplementary weft techniques. Having since learned to weave aikapur, I intend to share details of that technique as soon as time allows.

In my travels across Bhutan I have also seen other Bhutanese looms and yathra weaving.
