The Textile Traditions of Bhutan tour 2016 has come to an end in Bhutan, but the memories and insights continue to be processed as guests return home. I am hearing from some that they are now reluctant to wash textiles purchased from nomads as their smell of wood smoke evokes Bhutan so strongly. Here is a little of what we got up to…

Hi Wendy, I love this hidden gem in the world. I have requested an itinerary but I just wanted to say hi to you. You have done something that I want to do and that is to live in the country for an extended period of time to learn and honor their talents.
Thanks Kristine. It was serendipitous really: I went to Bhutan to teach music for a year & had no idea I would have such a wonderful opportunity to learn their weaving.
