These beautiful fabrics are produced by an involved block-printing and dyeing process that takes 10-16 days to complete.
The process has been perfected over many generations, as the skills and accumulated knowledge are passed from father to son. The red and blue piece in the top photo was made by a family who are in their 9th generation of Ajarakh production, some of their designs dating from the 16th century.
